Hair Transplant Stages

  • The patient arrives at the hair transplant center in the morning on an empty stomach, and a blood test is performed.
  • Drawings are made to determine the areas where hair will be transplanted, and the number of grafts for each area is decided.
  • The hair is shaved. Patients should not shave their hair before coming to the clinic.
  • Local anesthesia is applied. The patient will feel no pain or discomfort during the procedure. Many patients converse with the team, watch TV, or sleep during the procedure.
  • Based on the hair transplant technique to be used, hair follicles are extracted from the donor area.
  • Extracted hair follicles are preserved in a cold environment. Hair grafts can consist of multiple hair roots and are separated into petri dishes.
  • Before starting the transplant, the team and patient take a break, and the patient is served lunch.
  • To strengthen the roots, plasma and PRP treatments are applied.
  • Sapphire-tipped needles are used to open channels for the hair transplant along the determined lines.
  • The grafts are placed into the opened channels.
  • The patient is informed about the post-procedure care and is asked to return to the clinic the next day for a dressing.

Post Hair Transplant Process

  • Following the transplant, following the given instructions significantly affects the results.
  • The day after the transplant, the donor area dressing needs to be done. On the second day, the washing session begins, and the patient is asked to return to the clinic. Subsequent hair washes should follow the method taught by the specialist team.
  • It’s essential to rest for 5 days to reduce swelling in the scalp and increase the resistance of the hair follicles.
  • The scabs formed in the transplant area will disappear by 90% once the washing program is complete. Sometimes, complete disappearance may take 12-13 days.
  • After 2 months, hair growth outside the transplant area can be cut with scissors. Shaving machines should be avoided to prevent damage to the roots.
  • After the 4th month, the entire head can be shaved with a machine.
  • Two months after the transplant, normal hair shedding occurs, and by the 4th month, the roots strengthen and begin to grow. Transplanted hair will not fall out, as the follicles taken from the nape are genetically resistant to hair loss.
  • In 10-12 months, the process is completed, and individuals achieve their desired hair appearance.
